The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program will cover tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years. The scholarship is tenable only at the University of Toronto.

Eligibility Criteria for Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship

An international student nominated by their school will be invited to submit an application to the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship program. The complete eligibility criteria is:

Apply to study at the University of Toronto(external link) to begin your studies in 2022 and complete your application for admission by the appropriate deadlines(external link).  Please be advised that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for your first choice of program at U of T.  You may apply for several programs and may receive admission to them all; however, the Pearson Scholarship, if awarded to you, would be restricted to your first choice of program at U of T at the time our scholarship decisions are made.

Douglas College International Student Scholarship 2022-2023 is an undergraduate scholarship for international students. This scholarship covers up to CAD 7000 of the tuition fees. A maximum of 5 eligible recipients will be chosen each academic year.


This scholarship was created in 2017 to support the recruitment of international undergraduate students involved in athletic activities to Douglas College and help them with their finances, and to cover the difference between international and domestic student tuition fees.

Université de Montréal Scholarships will provide the following benefits:

Undergraduate:

The strength of your academic record is the only criterion for evaluation to determine the amount of the scholarship. The results of the analysis are ranked according to the following three levels:

  • Level A: $11,998 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $5,999 per session (15 credits) or $399 per credit
  • Level B: $5,718 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $2,859 per session (15 credits) or $190.60 per credit
  • Level C: $2,000 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $1,000 per session (15 credits) or $66.67 per credit

These amounts are applied to tuition fees of $23,662 per year (30 credits).

Masters:

To support you in your graduate studies as an international student, a partial exemption scholarship from the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students is available.

  • $9,420 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $3,140 per session (equivalent to 15 credits)

This amount is applied to tuition fees of $27,300 per year (45 credits).

PhD

To support you in your graduate studies as an international student, a complete waiver of the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students is available.

This exemption bursary allows you to benefit from the same tuition fees as Québec graduate studies students.

  • $19,339 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $6,546 per session (equivalent to 15 credits) for the entire duration of your studies.

This amount is applied to the tuition fees of $24,300 per year (45 credits).

Eligibility Criteria for Université de Montréal Scholarships

To qualify for Global Excellence Postgraduate Taught Scholarship, candidate must fulfill all of the following requirements below:

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries
  • Must hold a study permit and who are neither permanent residents nor Canadian citizens.
  • Must be enrolled full-time in a study program throughout their studies.
  • Must not benefit from another form of tuition fee exemption through another policy or measure. For example, French and Belgian Francophone students already benefit from this type of exemption.

1. Apply for admission

Eligibility Criteria for University of Waterloo Scholarships

To be eligible for University of Waterloo Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Required Languages: English
  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries
  • Candidates who have the good academic standing (normally a minimum 70% average at the undergraduate level; normally a minimum 75% average at the graduate level) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
  • The applicants must be full-time undergraduate and graduate students in any faculty who wish to participate in an international experience in Israel, including a minimally-paid or volunteer international co-op work placement, a volunteer placement, an academic exchange or a study term related to academic requirements.
  • International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees.
  • Normally given to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
  • Will normally only be given to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
  • Students must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.
  • Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.
  • This award could be in addition to other internal or external scholarships (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS,  etc). Note: scholarships are different than sponsorship – see next bullet.
  • Normally, students should not be concurrently receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the Faculty minimum levels of support.
  • Students grand-parented under the existing IMSA program cannot be nominated for an IMAE; however, a student previously awarded an IMSA for a previously completed master’s degree can be nominated for an IMAE.
  • Students will be automatically considered for this award based on their application for admission. Departments and/or Faculty will define their own internal process by which they select recipients based on the eligibility criteria and allocation.
  • Faculties may impose stricter eligibility criteria as appropriate.
