Alberta Invites 150 Candidates, Lowest CRS Of 306 In New Express Entry Draw

 

Alberta has announced the details of a new draw through the Express Entry-linked stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.

The June 16 draw saw 150 candidates invited, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 306, the lowest this year through Alberta Express Entry.

Important requirements for the stream are that candidates have stated an interest in immigrating permanently to the province, and are working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification.

Manitoba Conducts New Canada Immigration Draw Aimed At Ukrainians

 

Manitoba has conducted a fifth targeted draw as part of its special immigration measures to aid those impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The draw took place on June 20 through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. It saw Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued to 14 candidates, requiring a minimum score of 60 points.

To be considered, candidates also had to meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of Ukraine.
• Minimum of CLB 4 in each language band.
• Established connection to Manitoba (close relative, family-like, community, previous employment or studies in Manitoba).
• Valid language test.
• Score at least 60 points according to MPNP assessment criteria.

This was the 148^th draw in the history of the MPNP.

Masters:

To support you in your graduate studies as an international student, a partial exemption scholarship from the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students is available.

• $9,420 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $3,140 per session (equivalent to 15 credits)

This amount is applied to tuition fees of $27,300 per year (45 credits).

PhD

To support you in your graduate studies as an international student, a complete waiver of the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students is available.

This exemption bursary allows you to benefit from the same tuition fees as Québec graduate studies students.

• $19,339 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $6,546 per session (equivalent to 15 credits) for the entire duration of your studies.

This amount is applied to the tuition fees of $24,300 per year (45 credits).

Eligibility Criteria for Université de Montréal Scholarships

To qualify for Global Excellence Postgraduate Taught Scholarship, candidate must fulfill all of the following requirements below:

• Required Language: English.
• Eligible Countries: All world countries
• Must hold a study permit and who are neither permanent residents nor Canadian citizens.
• Must be enrolled full-time in a study program throughout their studies.
• Must not benefit from another form of tuition fee exemption through another policy or measure. For example, French and Belgian Francophone students already benefit from this type of exemption.

• Candidates who have the good academic standing (normally a minimum 70% average at the undergraduate level; normally a minimum 75% average at the graduate level) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
• The applicants must be full-time undergraduate and graduate students in any faculty who wish to participate in an international experience in Israel, including a minimally-paid or volunteer international co-op work placement, a volunteer placement, an academic exchange or a study term related to academic requirements.
• International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees.
• Normally given to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
• Will normally only be given to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
• Students must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.
• Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.
• This award could be in addition to other internal or external scholarships (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS,  etc). Note: scholarships are different than sponsorship – see next bullet.
• Normally, students should not be concurrently receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the Faculty minimum levels of support.
• Students grand-parented under the existing IMSA program cannot be nominated for an IMAE; however, a student previously awarded an IMSA for a previously completed master’s degree can be nominated for an IMAE.
